You know how important it is the have one or more backup players for each of your starters. No team would be without a backup quarterback should your starter get hurt. You need to have a backup of your drawings, playbook and script files should your computer get hurt. If your computer is damaged or stolen and you don't have a backup all of you important files like emails, documents, spreadsheets and Coach's Office databases files then you'll be starting over. You can always reinstall the programs on another computer but you files are lost forever.
In what way can your computer be damaged?1. The hard drive crashes. This is where all your programs and files are stored.
2. Your computer gets a fatal virus that wipes out everything on you hard drive.
3. Someone accidentally deletes or copy's our over an important file.
There are three database files that you should backup; Formation.mdb, Playbook.mdb and Script.mdb. Thet are located in the C:Program Files/CoachsOffice folder for Windows XP and the C:CoachsOffice folder on Windows Vista.
This files can also be placed on your network drive but we'll talk about that in another Post.
How often should you backup your files?Any time you make changes in the Chalkboard, Playbook and/or Script you should back up those files before you shutdown the computer at the end of the day.
